Sahil Kothari

Sahil Kothari, 16, is a student at the prestigious ‘Campion’ School located in the heart of Mumbai. Sahil is a talented sportsman, who along with his academics, plays competitive tennis at the local, national, and international level. Every day he spends almost 4 hours in mastering his tennis playing skills, and to perfect his tennis skills he travels around the country to participate in various tennis tournaments to compete with the best.

Sahil’s mother instilled in him a belief about the benefits of music on the brain and how he would miss out on life if he didn’t pursue it at a young age. Sahil began playing tabla along with singing Indian songs, but he gradually lost interest.

Keyboard/piano eventually became his instrument of choice, and he excelled in his school’s music competitions by taking home multiple awards.

In addition to music and tennis, Sahil excelled and won debate, elocution, chess, art, and basketball competition at the school and interschool levels.

Along the road, in his stride to achieve balance between all the multiple things he pursued, SahiI realized that while he won tournaments and music competitions, his hunger to win always unsettled him on many instances. For Sahil It was a challenge to enjoy the effort more than the desire to win.

Sahil came to the realisation that he would have to deal with many difficulties alone during practise sessions. However, he was able to maintain his composure despite the demanding and trying circumstances because of music. He learned valuable life lessons from music, including how to embrace new and unfamiliar curves and navigate them with calm resolve, exactly like his musical notes and bass of the piano.

At this point, Sahil had the vision of developing a music platform to aid children’s with autism and other mental disabilities.
